At some point in our lives, we all face loss. Bereavement is a natural part of life, yet one which is often difficult to talk about.
Nobody deals with grief in the same way; there’s no right or wrong way to grieve. There are well documented stages of grief, yet all of us will have our own unique experience. If it feels like you’re not able to grieve properly, or you feel you can’t get over the loss, it may be helpful to have counselling.
Being able to talk to someone completely outside of your situation can be really helpful. Friends and family can be a wonderful support, but it may be hard to share your deepest feelings with them. Counselling offers a safe, calm and non-judgmental space in which to explore your feelings.
Our counsellors here at Counselling Nottingham at the Wellbeing Clinic are very experienced in working with people in the throes of grief. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you may find it helpful to work through the process with someone who understands. If you’re not sure, give us a call and we can talk in person.
